Bird's-Eye View of St. Augustine, 1885

$30.00

“The Oldest Town in the United States,” declares this sepia-toned graphic depiction of St. Augustine. It was not drawn to scale and was produced to be printed as a souvenir for visitors to the burgeoning tourist town. Landmarks like the Castillo de San Marcos and the Anastasia Island lighthouse are clearly pictured. Various hotels, public building and businesses are listed in the key at the bottom, though finding the corresponding numbers on the illustration can be a challenge.

First created by publisher Norris, Wellge & Swift of Brockton, Massachusetts. Reproduced via high-resolution scans of the original 1885 document. Measures 28 x 20 inches (horizontal). Printed on heavy, fine art quality paper. Source: State Library of Florida
