Dixieland Park was a major attraction on the city’s Southside for a time, between 1907 and 1920. Covering more than 20 acres adjacent to the St. Johns River, the park featured thrill rides and ostrich races. Across the river was Hemming Park, a public space that remains today in front of City Hall (then Cohen Brothers department store). Bay Street was a bustling center of commerce and included a cable car line running down the middle.

Relive scenes from Jacksonville from some 100 years ago with this three-print collection of historical post card prints.
